When the call came, Spud answered. For those of you who don't know, the
Ice Bucket Challenge, sometimes called the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, is
an activity involving dumping a bucket of ice water on someone's head
to promote awareness of the disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
and encourage donations to research. In the UK, people participate for
the Motor Neurone Disease Association. The
challenge dares nominated participants to be filmed having a bucket of
ice water poured on their heads and challenging others to do the same.
A common stipulation is that nominated people have 24 hours to comply
or forfeit by way of a charitable financial donation. Now that's the official
thing, however thats not to say that you can't still donate to the cause
anyway, even if you do take the Nestea Plunge... That's what I did and
I encourage you to do the same!

Spud
returns with a new adventure!
Some of you were probably wondering whatever became of Spud...had his travel
ended? There had not been any updates in a coon's age so it could be easy
to jump to that conclusion. However Spud had gotten a bit burnt out from
so much traveling that he thought he'd take sime time off and regenerate
his batteries. He took a few side trips here and there and has a collection
of photos in which to share along with some adventures from those trips,
and he hopes to bring them to you with greater regularity over this year.
The
latest posted adventure finds the tuber visiting the cornfields of Nebraska...but
it was not corn that he was in search of...!
We've
also posted his recent adventure in the Ozarks when he visited The
Blue Hair's Vegas: Branson, Missouri, plus a spiritual trip to Graceland
to visit the King, a journey to the Pantheon of Poultry: Kentucky,
a quick trip to The
Texas Panhandle, a sojourn over to Arkansas
and last but not least, a visit to the lonely corncob state of Iowa

We've got the uber rare Orlando Magic Potato Head which is a full sized potato
released only at one basketball game back in the early 2000s. It comes with
a fabric Magic Jersey, basketball and all the regular parts! We've also got
the Chicago Cubs full sized Potato head and a few Soccer Potato Heads from the
English Premier League! We've also got the rarely seen Patriotic Potato, which
saw limited release as well in the early 2000s. He's adorned with his fabric
uncle sam hat, blue ears and red bowtie! Of course we have most of the Star
Wars themed Potato Heads too, but supplies are running low on many so be sure
to get yours soon!
Please note that
we will not be carrying the mini Potato Heads that are not made by Playskool;
this goes for the Star Trek series, the Wizard of Oz and the Looney Tunes series
as well as all the Sports Spuds. The mini potato heads dont really look anything
like the original potato heads, and frankly that annoys us. Therefore, aside
from the KISS and Elvis Potatoes, we are only going to be carrying the full
sized potato heads. This way you can interchange all your parts!!
